Info: Jim Thorms is an artist with wood. Since 1990 he made models of many different cars
Jim wroe: "I make all different kinds of wooden model cars and trucks, the karmann ghia was just one of them, ( a customer ordered a model in a large 1/8 scale , so I made a prototype in the smaller 1/16 scale first , as I often do , to check everything before making the larger scale model, (he smaller scale model is the one that was on e-bay). I have made a few others to keep in stock since then.
Some of the models are simple basic ( cheap) models with not a lot of detail, but still look like they are supposed to, others are more detailed and have lots of detail ( dash, gauges emblams seats , grills etc) some models are made with opening and closing doors hoods glove box steerable wheels motors that have lots of detail distrubiter caps wires spark plugs gererator fans that turn etc,models come in varies sizes from small at apx 6-8 inch long to large at 20 24 in long, I have made some models that were over 6ft longand a child could sit in side them, but they are not a kids toy more a big boy toy attached is a picture of some of my models including a karmann ghia ( centre car on top shelf)
