Siku Siku

Info: During the period of world inflation Richard Sieper built a foundry in L?denscheid on which basis the company operates today.
1950 was another important year for the company when the brand name SIKU, an abbreviated name for SIeper KUnststoffe was created and registered. For the first time a range of toys consisting of 16 figures and farm animals together with an aquarium with fish and snow-shaker was shown at the first toy fair at Nuremberg. Contacts with customers and buying-groups began.
The first range of 32 model cars in 1:60 scale made in plastic followed the success of the initial 4 model toys and because of the size of each model each car was a toy in its own right. By 1958 the SIKU range comprised over 100 plastic vehicles and over 400 subsidiary products such as road signs and figures. Step by step SIKU grew to become a permanent part of the toy trade's top priority products. This serie contains the green and pink plastic type14.
1963 marked the beginning of a complete change to production in metal. At first 16 car models were produced in zinc die-cast and were presented to the trade in scale 1:60. Others followed including commercial vehicles with added play features. By 1968 the SIKU range comprised already 66 models in die-cast metal. This serie contains the Type34.
In 1984 Sieper purchased the traditional model manufacturing company Wiking Modellbau Peltzer & Peltzer. Wiking is part of Siku but the models are still released on the Wiking brand.
The Sieper Werke Company together with its various factories is today run by the third generation of the Sieper family
